Pleasure in Waiting, (are you kidding me?)
Psalms 27:14 Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. (KJV)
I find nothing pleasant about waiting. It’s boring, agitating, and mostly a waste of time; because I can think of everything else I COULD BE DOINE instead of waiting. Are you the same way? I think it is the human side of us, as usual, that naturally gives into the negative side of life.
Psalms 37:7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. (KJV)
David must have known all too well about waiting. I read the 37thchapter of Psalms and found it quite profound and meditation worthy, I encourage you to do the same. Let his words of wisdom find you where you are right now in your moment. As read in David's writing you can identify with times of waiting, and it’s profitability for doing so. It is absolutely amazing how God works in our waiting period; if we will hold out and hold on.
There is much more positive in waiting than the in the negative perspective when we flip the process around in our head. Instead of being tortured by it, embrace it. Rather than being bored, be delighted! Sounds crazy I know, and I for one will have to work at it. The fruit that waiting brings is far more bountiful than the dreading of its uncertainty. The enemy would have us think poorly of waiting. He doesn’t
want us to wait; so that we will not receive the blessing it brings. If he can keep us imprisoned by the drudgery of it all, we will give up and move on to something else more pleasant. How easily our flesh will move us out of the will of God for our lives when we can’t simply wait on God.
Oh yes, I’m talking to myself today. I’ve been in the waiting place too long it seems, anticipating what’s next; can’t wait for the fruition of the next step. I’ve been restless, impatient, aggravated and agitated, to say the least. I’ve got to change my outlook, my attitude in the
waiting. Rejoice in its purpose and benefits for me. “I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengths me”! Phil 4:13 (KJV)
Psalms 37:18 The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever. (KJV)
Have fun waiting!
Prayer:
Lord, waiting truly is not fun for my fleshly man, but help me to be still and wait on you. I refuse to let the enemy or my human flesh move me out of your will during my waiting period. What you have instore for me will be worth the wait. I can do all things through Christ, and you are worth waiting for. Amen.

So, You Think It Couldn't Be Worse!
2 Thessalonians 3:3 “But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one. KJV
I have always known that God is my protector, and I thank Him for keeping our family safe. I have been at rest in His peace for many years knowing that He is more than able to do what He said He would do, and do a good job of it. I pray His protection over our homes, our property, and over our lives, our health, finances, and over both the seen and unseen things.
As I visited with a friend the other day I saw a deeper glimpse of God’s unfailing provision. My friend shared her experience with me when she had contracted the Fifth disease years ago as an adult. This disease is normally a childhood disease like the measles, but it is harder on a person as an adult than a child. She said she ran a fever of 103º for three weeks and she’s never been the same physically since! My heart felt for her as she shared this experience. She mentioned that one of her aunts also had it, and it resulted in her death.
My mind raced back in time when my youngest daughter had broken out in a rash, and I took her to the Dr. His diagnosis was that she had the Fifth disease. My daughter wasn’t deathly ill that I can recall, just a rash and a mild fever. As I thought of that period all I could think of today was, “WOW!” I thought of numerous things our family has faced over the years and realized even more just how God has kept us from worse outcomes.
I can’t help but say, “God, you are so awesome!” “How many other times have you guarded us from severity, devastations and much more?” Even when we experienced what we thought was the worst of the worst, how much more had the Lord protected our very sanity and lives! “THANK YOU, GOD!”
It doesn’t matter what we may face as a child of The Living God, we can rest assured that He will bring us through this life with His hand upon us. So, when you think about what you’re going through couldn’t possibly be any worse, know this, YES IT CAN, if it hadn’t been for the hand of God upon your life.
Take a moment today to reflect on God’s protection over your life. Let the Holy Spirit illuminate to you how marvelous the hand of God has
kept you from utter destruction. He is worthy of all the praise.
Ps 150:6 “Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD, Praise ye the Lord.” KJV
Prayer: Father, I thank you for keeping your hand on my family and me. You have kept us safe from harm and total devastation many times. You alone are worthy of my praise; you are the God of glory, and my protector. When I think it couldn’t be worse help me to understand you are in the midst, and to keep praising you regardless. You will never leave me, and I am sheltered by your hand of protection.
Amen!

How To Lose an Airport
Matthew 5:14 “… A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.” KJV
The Word of God tells us that a city on a hill cannot be hid. The same applies to me regarding International Airports!
Seriously, how can you lose an airport? 1. When you don’t do as you’re instructed. 2. And you do it in the dark!
For time sake I’ll try to give you a short version. My husband and I were to arrive at the Will Rogers International Airport one December night to pick up our long lost niece whom we had located earlier that year. We had her flown in from Florida for a surprise Christmas present to her grandfather. They had been separated over 30 years and this would be the second time she would see grandpa that year after all that time. They would finally be able to spend a week catching up, as much as possible.
I was so excited. I was thinking I had to get her arrival at the airport caught on video and take pictures with my husband greeting her after she landed. But, I wasn’t listening to any words of wisdom (mistake #1) my husband was saying to me in the car because I was too busy planning. I turned my cell phone on silent (mistake #2) and prepared my camera; now
I was all set. Tim told me to stay in the car while he went in to get her. I explained very politely my idea to capture this “Memorex moment” and that I couldn’t stay in the car (mistake #3), I had to go in. He gave me what he thought was clear instructions where to park the car after I let him out. He said he would go in and find her and wait on me…so, he waited….and waited…and he waited.
I drove off looking right at the parking garage, and I never saw any place to turn that would get me into the garage! So, I kept on driving. I made an exit thinking it would get back where I started and to try again. Oh, NO! It took me down rough bumpy roads in the middle of the boonies…in total darkness (mistake #4). All I could tell myself was, “keep your eyes on the airport, you can do it, don’t lose the airport, just keep it in your sights and you’ll be fine!” I drove in the dark
thinking I was headed in one direction and later discovered I was going TOTALLY the opposite. It’s a good thing I
put gas in the car after work or I would have been stranded in the middle of nowhere on this 20 minute journey.
Mind you, I had forgotten my cell phone was on silent. It never occurred to me to call my husband (mistake #5). My only thought was to keep my eyes on the airport, don’t lose the airport! This whole time I’m MIA, Tim and our niece are standing outside on a cold December night waiting and looking for me, and wondering where in the world I went. He was dialing my phone like crazy to find me, but I never heard a thing. It never dawned on me that I put my phone on silent, or to call my husband. When I finally made my way back into the airport entrance I thought about my phone and to call Tim. Well, there were only a gazillion missed calls from him; then I knew I was in for it. I’d NEVER live this one down.
When we all made it safely back home that night (with my husband doing the driving!), I had my defense prepared chalked full of perfectly good excuses of why I didn’t do what he told me to do. In the telling of my story and what had
happened we all laughed so hard until the floor was almost full of tears and other bodily fluid. I never laughed so hard at myself. I learned to NEVER go against his instructions (about airport driving, that is!) and I’ll never want to drive to the airport again and definitely not in the dark!
I don’t think I will ever read Mt 5:14 again without thinking of this event. Thank God, the airport was well lit and in my
view!
